CEDAR VALLEY YOUTH THEATRE

Exceeding Expectations

Bob Filippone (Producing Artistic Director) is a radiologist in the Cedar Valley. Bob founded Des Moines Young Artists’ Theatre in 2007. Bob co-founded Des Moines Onstage in 2012 and Noce Jazz/Cabaret in 2015. He has produced and directed many shows for DMYAT, DMO and Noce over the years. He is also an adjudicator for Iowa High School Musical Theatre Awards and a judge for Iowa High School Speech Association. Bob most recently produced and directed Little Women, Godspell, Sense & Sensibility and Bad Girl at Cedar Falls Woman's Club and directed School of Rock, 13 the Musical and Bring it On at Cedar Falls Community Theatre.

Rosemary and Daniel Gast (Music Directors) have been a long time staple of the Cedar Valley performing arts community, having performed and music directed numerous productions throughout the area. They are long time voice teachers, adjudicators and professors of voice at Wartburg College. They have worked with Bob since he moved to the Cedar Valley and have been instrumental in the founding of CVYT.

Lily Gast (Student Liaison) is a Theatre Performance major at the University of Northern Iowa. She has been an active actress/singer in local and regional theaters in Iowa. Some of her noted roles are Puck (Midsummer Night's Dream) Sally (You're a good man, Charlie Brown) Ariel (The Little Mermaid) and Little Red (Into the Woods). She has worked professionally with Revival Theatre Company performing the roles of Iola Stover (Parade) Young Violet (Violet) and most recently the role of Carolyn in the Iowa Premiere of The Bridges of Madison County. Lily was featured as Sandy in Waterloo Playhouse's production of Grease and Patrice in 13 the Musical at Oster Regent Theatre.  She also portrayed Jo in Little Women and Morgan in Godspell at Cedar Falls Woman's Club.
